Meet Josh FrideyFocused on creating technology that works for people, and inspired by the art, music, and culture that shape me.
My name is Josh Fridey and I’m a Senior IT Manager with over 15 years in the field. At AB Computer, I help teams in agriculture, healthcare, construction, and petroleum run dependable, well-structured systems that actually make their work easier.
I spend most days working with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra. I design and maintain network infrastructure, manage identity, and strengthen cybersecurity so people can do their jobs without fighting their tools.
What keeps me engaged is the constant change. There is always something new to learn or a better way to solve a problem. I’m not afraid to admit when I don’t know something. I dig in, learn what I need, test safely, and document the steps so anyone on the team can repeat the fix.
Outside that core role, I build full stack web apps on the side, sometimes for fun and sometimes when a client needs a focused app that speeds up a real workflow. I work with TypeScript, Postgres, Strapi, Next.js, and Tailwind.
When I am not knee deep in infrastructure planning or troubleshooting something strange, you will find me at punk rock shows, playing video games with friends, building Legos, adding to my tattoo collection, or spending time with my family. I also share my home office with Scratch, a 25 pound food thief and self appointed security system with the bark of a 100 pound guard dog.
Through this blog I share real world IT insights, practical walkthroughs, and the occasional story, written to be useful. Whether you are breaking into the industry or managing enterprise level systems, there should be something here that helps.
